The details of these personalities are given below: Rehman Baba: Rehman Baba was born in a village near Peshawar. He is a great Sufi poet of the pathans but little is known about his life. The chief characteristics of his poetry are eloquence and spontaneity. The poetry of Rehamn Baba conveys a universal message of love and humanity. He believes that the whole universe can be conquered by love. His poetry replete with moral lessons. This deep love of Allah and his Prophet (PBUH) made him oblivious to his surroundings. His best poems have been written in praise of Allah and the prophet (PBUH). Rehamn Baba is very popular amongst the pathans for the simplicity of his diction. His verses have attained the status of proverbs. He is known as the nightingale of Peshawar. Abdur Rab Nishtar: Abdur Rab Nishtar was born in a respectable and educated family of Peshawar in 1899. He played an important role in the struggle for Pakistan. In beginning he joined the Congress party and also participated in the civil disobedient movement against the British. As soon as he realized that the Hindus were viased towards the Muslims, he left the Congress and joined the Muslim League. After the creation of Pakistan, as a member of constituent assembly he made great efforts for the formation of an Islamic constitution. The objective resolution was passed in 1949 through his personal efforts. He also Served as the governor of Punjab and also as Federal Minister for Industries. Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar loved the Urdu language and made it the official language in Punjab when he was governor there. He was popular among the people for his honesty, truthfulness and devotion to duty. He died in 1958.
